Meet the team
We currently have 68 residents in our program: 48 traditional general pediatrics residents, 12 primary care pediatrics residents, 4 Green Bay WI aged women dating older men neurology residents, 2 physician scientists, and 2 preliminary pediatrics residents.
Our residents are from 36 different medical schools, representing 20 states. He is currently learning to draw. Naseer chose UNC for residency because of the supportive training environment, access to advocacy and research opportunities, and the chance to work with a diverse patient population. She has a cat named Coco, who served as her co-pilot while she drove from Galveston to Chapel Dates Ann Arbor MI. She considers herself a restaurant aficionado, gastronaut, and self-proclaimed foodie. Chika also loves yoga.

During his interview day and interactions with the residents, everyone got along with each other so well and it was immediately apparent that this would be the perfect atmosphere to train in. Josh is a two-time Sam Hall Cup winner, which is an extremely competitive croquet tournament put on by his family every year. Even with a virtual interview day, she was moved by the interactions she had with each and every person. In the whirlwind of a completely virtual interview season, UNC stood out to her as a genuine, friendly, collaborative environment where everyone knew and cared about each-other. At the virtual socials, she genuinely enjoyed hanging out with the residents and faculty due to their welcoming, authentic attitude and enthusiasm. She was in choir during college and plays three musical instruments — guitar, ukulele, and piano! From her experiences as a UNC medical student and her interactions on the interview day, UNC truly stood out to her as the most vibrant, welcoming program with a culture of kindness and compassion. She chose UNC because as a medical student, she loved the mentorship she received from faculty and the excellent teaching and leadership exhibited by the resident physicians.
Being from North Carolina, she is also grateful to serve communities in the place that will always be home. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, ultimate frisbee, and flag football. She has spent time in Costa Rica, teaching English to school-age children.
Her favorite music artists are Zauntee, Wande, and Mali Music! She was searching for a program that would prepare her for a lifestyle serving underserved marginalized children.
Patient advocacy and health inequities are important to her, and she knew that UNC would give her the opportunity to work with like-minded colleagues who genuinely care about patient outcomes. She is excited about the many types of learning and teaching opportunities that she will have at UNC.
Holly once roasted a marshmallow over volcanic lava. Holly enjoys reading, traveling, playing the flute and crafting. She is excited to learn how to best care for children among such supportive and down-to-earth colleagues and staff! Rukiayah loved every interaction she had with the residents and program leadership. After meeting the residents and faculty, Joanne was drawn to the types of physicians that train and best Midland to meet friends in a new city at UNC.

While she was in college, Aubrey spent time in London working at a general practice. She loves baking bread and enjoys the company of her crazy cat, Anchovy. She and her husband couples matched; he is a radiology resident at Duke. She also spent a year living in Mexico to learn Spanish. Natalie loves to cook, enjoys date spots in Greensboro NC, reading, playing the flute, traveling, spending time with family and friends, embroidery, and going on nature walks.
She enjoys traveling, collecting vinyl records, running, hiking, and playing intramural sports, especially volleyball and basketball. She does not enjoy chickens, and is in fact, scared of them. She is a die-hard Indiana sports fan — go Hoosiers!
